Laura is a wife of 11 years to TJ and she drives him crazy on the daily. They are complete opposites, but balance each other out so perfectly. Together, they have three boys, Hayden, Gray, and Brady. You can usually find her hauling youngins (hers and others) around in her van, laughing until her sides hurt AND trying to encourage others wherever she goes.
Here is what she had to say: "I can only imagine what life would be without a home that has memories, smiles, hard conversations, laughter, life lessons and sweet times. Life’s on its own can be very unpredictable and sometimes downright unbearable, but when we turn to Jesus and the people within the walls of our home, life seems a little bit sweeter. Whether you are living in a basement, an apartment, your car, a camper or a beautiful 2 story house, you are what makes a home. Here at The Shiloh Shop, we believe the home was meant to be the sweetest place on this side of eternity and even if it doesn’t feel sweet, you can know that it isn't about what you have hanging on your walls or what kind of throw pillows you have. It is about filling your home with the goodness of Jesus, serving one another well and making memories. Knowing that home isn’t always sweet, we pray that we can be an encouragement to you and help you look to God when your heart is heavy."
Ashley is a mama to two babies, Lena and Jameson. She is an educator and her profession has taken her many places. Her love for home, fixer upper projects, Diet Mountain Dew and baseball caps is pretty big, but can't outweigh her heart for people. Ashley has a self-sacrificing spirit and would give you the shoes off her feet if there was a need.
She loves to give of herself and if you don't know Ashley, you're missing a blessing. When her path crossed with Laura's, their conversations always aligned with Jesus, home and family. They both had dreams to take Laura's dream to the next level, so they decided to do it together and to dream even bigger.
what we do
Events, large or small are our heart. We love to celebrate makers and finders of all kinds, but even more, we love to love on them. We know their events aren't just hosting a pop-up market for people to come and shop at, but it's looking at those creative people as what they truly are: people. They are families who have mouths to feed, car payments to make, and people who have souls, emotions, and passions. We want them to know their passions are appreciated and celebrated.
We have added another fun opportunity for our supporters to take part in called The Workshop. As educators, we wanted to keep fueling our desire to learn new things and our Galentine's Day Event confirmed the interest in just that: learning. We decided to coordinate workshops in a brick and mortar studio space in downtown Eden. Makers of all kinds come in and teach their art/craft/skill to eager students ready to learn and create. Our space is a gathering place for anyone wanting to learn something new, but also a place to come and hang out with your friends, enlighten and refresh your soul, but build community with one another. Yes, we will still have the BIG events, but subscribe to stay updated on The Workshop happenings. We ask for your prayers and support as this dream continues to open up new opportunities.
